No.3 in the world ,Alexander Zverev has become yet another player to be hampered by ilness, after Serina Williams and Anastasija Sevastova. His loss was the hands of opponent Jan-Lennard Struff with 6:3, 6:1. The entire game was played for just 72 minutes, making one of the most stunning wins in Struff’s career. Interestingly, the tournament draw has decided for Struff to play agains Grigor Dimitrov, but due to the bulgarian’s absence from the tournament , No.55 (Struff) played against No.3 (Zverev).
“I have been sick for a week. That hasn’t changed unfortunately,” Zverev said. “I think I just got unlucky, got a virus somewhere and that’s how it is.
“Now it’s about getting healthy and about recovering and preparing myself for Miami, because Miami is a tournament I do well in.”
In the fourth round Struff is going to face the canadian Milos Raonic.
